Review: Sothys Paris Instant Energizing Corrector (EE Cream)

Sothys Paris Instant Energizing Corrector EE Cream Review 1

So far, I have reviewed seasonal makeup collections and serums from Sothys Paris (you can read my reviews of these products in the Makeup Reviews and Skincare Reviews sections on my blog). Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the Instant Energizing Corrector*, a product that is a makeup/skincare hybrid.

If you are unfamiliar with Sothys, it is an avant-garde beauty expert that produces products sold exclusively in beauty institutes and spas. This highly specialized brand has an extraordinary commitment to research and innovation, which is shown through its innovative line of luxurious skin and body care.

As the latest generation of Energy Enhancer (EE) cream, the Instant Energizing Corrector is a true representation of the company’s dedication to creating beauty advances. It contains encapsulated pigments to instantly target and correct visible imperfections while transforming during application to adapt to all skin tones.

The active ingredients in this product include Siberian ginseng to optimize the skin’s energy reserve, rice peptides to provide nutrients and increase the cell’s energy level, Manoic extract for an instant smoothing effect, and encapsulated unifying pigments to unify the complexion in a single step.

This is how the product looks straight from the tube. The formula is light yet creamy and appears grainy due to the pigment beads.

As you can see from the photo above, the beads become more visible as the product is applied to the skin. They disappear when the product is fully blended to reveal a smooth, slightly tinted base. It almost feels like a gentle exfoliation during application. Four pigment colours are used to balance the complexion: yellow to revive tired complexions, red for a healthy glow, white to restore radiance, and black to reduce orange tones and give a natural effect.

On my very pale skin, this product adds a light tint that is bronze-toned rather than orange. Since I don’t get very much sun on my face, my complexion often looks dull and drained, especially in the summer. This product gives it a boost of energy with its natural pigments and makes it look healthier and radiant. While this corrector can be used as a makeup base before applying foundation, it can also be worn on its own. This is how I like to use it since I don’t wear foundation. After applying a light layer of corrector, I curl my lashes, add a bit of powder blush to the apples of my cheeks, dab on a bit of lip stain, and I’m all set for the day. The formula never feels sticky or oily and stays put throughout the day, even when it’s hot and humid.

Overall, I am very impressed with how smooth and energized this corrector makes my skin look without the feeling or appearance of makeup. This is the first corrector that I have tried, and I can’t believe that I went this long without one. At $63.95 it is a splurge, but there is a generous amount of product in the 30 ml tube and a little goes a long way. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a luxury product to create a no-makeup look while enriching skin with quality ingredients.
