Bubbly Holiday Nails

Julep Jennye and Essie Stroke of Brilliance

Although fall is my favourite season, it is also the busiest time of year for me at my full time job. If you have been following Writing Beauty for a few years, you may have noticed that new posts are infrequent between September and December. My plan for 2018 was to try to avoid such a long break, so here I finally am in November with a new post.

Nail Art Flashback: Chanel Inspired Nails

Chanel Inspired Nail Art 3

Here’s another one of my nail designs from the past. I created this one back in 2012 in collaboration with Born Pretty Store. The company sent me their Chanel Inspired Jewels* in order to create a nail look. The deep purple base colour is China Glaze’s VIII, and the silver polish is Sally Hansen Chrome Nail Makeup in Black Pearl. I used Konad image plate m79 to create the quilted pattern.

St Patrick s Day Nail Art

While looking through the Writing Beauty nail art archives this month, I noticed two things. The first is that I created my first St. Patrick's Day nail art back in 2012. This was back when I was really into using nail art pens.

Valentine s day nail art

In honour of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share this festive nail look that I created in 2012. It’s fun to look back at these old nail art pictures and reflect on how much Writing Beauty (and my nail painting skills) have evolved over the last four years.

Shimmering Snowflakes Nail Art

Shimmering Snowflakes Nail Art 2

I know that winter isn’t everyone’s favourite season, but I think it’s one of the most beautiful. There’s something magical about the way a fresh snowfall can transform a dreary winter landscape by decorating it with layers of bright, glittery snow.

With this nail art, I wanted to capture the beauty and uniqueness of snowflakes by using a combination of white and holographic polish.

Vintage Nail Look: Flowers and Pearls

Flowers and Pearls Nail Look 1
Flowers and Pearls Nail Look 2

Here’s another one of my favourite nail looks from the past. When I first started creating nail art, I practiced by drawing lots of freehand flowers using a dotting tool or a toothpick. I learned that anyone can create cute and professional-looking designs just by placing dots in different patterns.
