Review: Kariderm Natural Beauty Products

Kariderm Review 1

It’s that time of year again: the ground is thawing, the days are longer, and spring wardrobe pieces are getting back into rotation.

After a long, dry winter my skin needs a little extra care before I put my tights away and slip into dresses, skirts, shorts, and sleeveless shirts. Luckily, I have had the opportunity to try a skincare line from Kariderm that features products made with raw, unrefined shea butter which is a natural, anti-aging moisturizer that keeps skin soft, vibrant, nourished, and healthy. This special ingredient is complemented in Kariderm products by clean and natural ingredients and therapeutic essential oils.

All Kariderm products reflect efficiency and respect for both people and the environment as they are crafted with unrefined shea butter that is certified Organic and Fair Trade. Every Kariderm product sold includes royalties to the Social Fund which helps finance a healthcare protection program for women working to produce shea butter in rural Burkina Faso.

Not only do I feel good about using these products on my skin due to their natural, clean ingredients, I also really appreciate the company’s efforts to ethically source their shea butter.

Read on for my review of these Kariderm products that are keeping my skin smooth and fresh for spring and summer.

Kariderm Review 2

Pure Organic Shea Butter* - This multi-purpose moisturizer melts easily into the skin to increase elasticity, strengthen the skin barrier, prevent dryness, and protect from premature aging. It includes fatty acids, sterols, and vitamins A, D, and E to keep skin cells healthy. I have been using this product to repair my dry elbows and knees and have seen a great improvement in both areas. Without this product, my skin would not have been smooth enough to apply self tanner for a wedding I attended recently. I also love how the non-greasy, balmy texture and mild nutty scent make it very comfortable to wear.

Moisturizing Protective Cream* - This face and neck moisturizer deeply conditions the skin to keep it hydrated, soft, and radiant all day. It has helped with the dry patches around my nose and on my neck that appear during the winter months. I also love how the formula provides optimal moisture while still having a light texture that absorbs easily without leaving behind a greasy residue. This allows it to work well on its own or under makeup.

Hand Cream* - I have a very busy job that requires me to give 100% every day, leaving little time for sick days. For this reason, I am an avid hand washer. Because of all my hand washing with hot water and strong antibacterial soaps, the skin on my hands tends to look about 10 years older that the skin on the rest of my body, especially during the winter months. This shea butter hand cream has helped replenish lost moisture and smooth  my hands, leaving them feeling soft and silky without leaving behind an oily residue. I keep the tube next to my bed to apply before I go to sleep. The lavender scent is very relaxing and the cream provides a barrier that keeps my hands feeling moisturized even after I wash them. If you try any items from this line, I highly recommend the hand cream.

Neutral Natural Soap* - One of the first items I tried from the line is this Argan Oil and Vitamin E soap because it is ideal for very dry, sensitive, or irritated skin due to dermatitis, psoriasis, or eczema. This describes my winter skin exactly as I’m always struggling with dry patches that are red, itchy, inflamed, and intolerant of strongly fragranced products. In addition to soothing my skin, this unscented soap smooths and hydrates. It also rinses clean without leaving a waxy film behind. I have been keeping this in my travel bag so that I can maintain my skin's health when I’m not at home, and I don’t have to worry about a liquid body wash spilling in my suitcase.

Organic Lip Balm* - This lip balm protects and nourishes with a combination of organic shea butter and organic vegetable oils. It’s hydrating without feeling too waxy and does not need to be reapplied often because of how well it coats the lips to hold in moisture. It’s also enriched with pure bourbon vanilla extract that gives it a rich, delicious scent. I have been keeping this in my purse for whenever my lips need a little luxurious rejuvenation.

Overall, I am very impressed with these Kariderm products. They are natural, effective, and also quite affordable. While I love all the products that I tried, my favourites are the pure shea butter, the hand cream, and the bar soap.  In addition to the products that I discussed, the line includes other face, body, and hair care products to maintain hydration the natural way.
