August 2015 Glossybox
In honour of the last full month of summer, the August Glossybox* features essentials for looking chic in the heat. While the July box included mostly skincare items, the majority of the products in this month’s box are easy-to-apply cosmetics in versatile shades for an effortless end-of-summer look.
The first two products in the August box not only add a summery sheen to lips and nails, but they also feature health-conscious formulas.
Lollipops Makeup Lip Balm in Delicieuse protects against UV rays and pollution, is paraben free, and helps regenerate chapped lips. Not to mention, it smells deliciously sweet like candy. I could smell it the second that I opened the box and knew it would be the first product that I tried.
The Sparitual Nail Lacquer in Water Lily also caught my attention with its beautiful seashell-like shimmer. This polish makes nail painting healthier with its vegan formula containing responsibly sourced ingredients.
The next three products keep skin and eyes looking polished on those warm summer days and late summer nights.
I’ve always approached beauty with the philosophy that spending more time caring for my skin can minimize the amount of makeup that I wear. For this reason, I like to try out new skin treatments and am very excited to try the Glamglow Youthcleanse Daily Clearing Cleanser. This product is designed to improve the complexion by exfoliating, cleansing, and renewing skin with its luxurious mud formula. It sounds like the perfect product to use for an at-home spa night.
In addition to prepping skin, this month’s box also includes a primer for lashes. The Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lash Primer nourishes lashes, prevents flaking, and prolongs the wear time of mascara. It’s been quite some time since I have tried a lash primer, so I’m looking forward to trying this one.
Last is the Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in Sooty Black. The matte formula of this liner glides on effortlessly and is smudgable. While this product sounds great, I will probably save it for a giveaway since black liner is just not flattering on me.
Overall, I found the August box to be another success from Glossybox. It is a great send-off to summer with its unique assortment of products and exciting brand selection.
I’m looking forward to seeing what Glossybox has in store for September and the first month of fall.
