The August Birchbox includes products that make the most of the last full month of summer. The box design for August has to be my favourite so far as it encompasses the energizing, yet relaxing elements of summer.
As I mentioned in my July post (see it HERE), the August box will be my last from Birchbox for a while. That said, the August box exceeded my expectations.
The first two items in the box include formulas to keep skin looking fresh while it’s still warm outside.
Crabtree & Evelyn Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy hydrates and protects hands with macadamia oil and shea butter. I will put this in my rotation for the colder months when my hands get very dry. I was hoping that the scent would include notes of coconut or vanilla that remind me of summer, but the product has a light herbal scent.
For the body, St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower is a self-tanner that can be applied in the shower and rinsed off within a few minutes. It leaves the skin with a buildable, natural-looking glow. I have never tried a product like this before and can’t wait to see how it will work for me.
The last three items are for lips and hair.
Amika Nourishing Mask is a paraben-free weekly treatment that conditions and repairs hair with sea buckthorn berry. This will be great for the winter months when my hair becomes damaged by the wind and the dehydrated air.
Also for hair is the Number 4 Blow Dry Lotion. This product is meant to be used before heat styling to protect hair from humidity. This will come in handy right through the fall since my hair tends to turn frizzy and flat from outdoor humidity.
The final item in this month’s box is most exciting for me as it is a beautiful muted coral lip and cheek product. The LAQA & Co. Cheeky Lip Crayon in Cray-Cray provides rich colour and it has a pleasant strawberry scent. I will be using this year round.
I have to say that this was a great month for Birchbox. In fact, I think it’s my favourite box that I have received from Birchbox. While I do not regret my decision to cancel my subscription for now, I will highly consider renewing it in the future.
