NOTD: China Glaze Fifth Avenue

China Glaze Fifth Avenue Review Swatches

I can’t believe that this is my first official blog post on China Glaze’s Fifth Avenue. I’ve owned it for many years (as you can see from the condition of the lettering on the bottle), and it has appeared in some of my seasonal favourites posts, but I have never written a full review on it.

Fifth Avenue was one of the first polishes in my collection. In the beginning, I wore it constantly because I just couldn’t get enough of the colour. In fact, my love for this polish turned into a love for polish in general and then a passion for nail blogging. What’s so amazing about this polish is its unique shade; it’s not too pink, not too red, and not too purple, but a perfect mix of the three. It complements many different skin tones and can even pass as a work-appropriate neutral.

On my nails, it’s slightly more purple than in the photo. I would describe it as a dusty rose creme shade. The only polish that I have found so far that looks similar is Essie’s In Stitches. I love both polishes but much prefer the formula of Fifth Avenue as it is easier to work with, provides a smoother, more even finish, dries faster, and lasts longer on me.

In the photo above, I’m wearing two coats of Fifth Avenue. I did not experience any streaking during the application process and each coat dried fairly quickly. Normally, when I wear this polish, I get about a week of wear before experiencing any chipping. I also receive lots of compliments on this polish every time I wear it, and I consider it a reliable choice when I can't decide which colour to wear.

As far as I know, this shade is part of China Glaze’s permanent collection, so it’s fairly easy to find. Overall, I recommend this shade to those who love nudes but want to try something a bit different, those who have been meaning to try red nails but feel intimidated, or those who are looking for a new everyday colour.
