Review: Sigma Beauty Nightlife by Camila Coelho Powder Blush in Hot Spot
I’m going to let you in on a little secret and tell you that some days (ok, most days), the only makeup I leave the house wearing is blush. As a pale-skinned gal, a swipe of blush can magically transform my skin from dull and pasty to energized and glowy. For this reason, I have quite the blush collection and am always excited to try new blushes.
This month, I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to review Sigma Beauty’s Nightlife by Camila Coelho Powder Blush in Hot Spot*. As you can see from the photo above, the outer packaging has a beautiful, textured finish made of silver and blue glitter. This design is unique to the Nightlife Collection and is inspired by the city lights from New York to Rio de Janeiro.
The inner packaging is amazing as well with its sleek black case and holographic silver details.
The holographic flashes look just as stunning when captured without my camera’s flash as you can see from the photo below.
I like how the bottom of the blush packaging includes a colour swatch so that you don’t have to open the blush to figure out what colour it is.
The mirror inside the blush compact is a nice feature, and the packaging itself is sturdy yet light which makes it easy to carry with you.
Now let’s talk about the colour...
Don’t let the photos scare you away from this blush. The shade in the photo above is brighter than the blush actually appears, but the photo below is quite accurate. Although the colour looks more orange in the pan, it applies on the skin as a soft peach. I don’t know who decided to send me this specific colour to try, but they definitely chose well because it is a must-have for fair skin. It gives me a refreshing peaches-and-cream glow that’s perfect for spring and summer; a nice alternative to traditional pink blush. Not to mention, I do not have anything else like it in my blush collection. I have been using it every day since I received it and have been getting so many compliments on it. I think that it would work well on many different skin tones to add a sheer pop of colour.
As for the formula, it’s very smooth, blendable, and not at all powdery. Certain blushes are difficult for me to blend out since I don’t wear foundation and apply them directly on my bare skin, but I have not had that issue with this one. There’s some visible shimmer in the photos, but it doesn’t translate on the skin as chunks of glitter. Instead, it provides more of a diffused glow. It’s also a very pigmented formula. I just need to tap my Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush into the pan to get enough colour for a light application. It’s very buildable, so you can adjust the shade to your liking. On my skin, it lasted all day without foundation, primer, or a setting spray.
Scroll down to see a swatch of the colour on my hand.
I turned off the flash on my camera to photograph this swatch in order to get an accurate representation of the colour. As you can see, it’s more peachy and wearable than it looks in the pan.
Overall, I’m very impressed with Sigma Beauty’s Nightlife by Camila Coelho Powder Blush in Hot Spot. This versatile shade is perfect for the warmer months and will flatter many different skin tones. The formula is long-lasting, easy to work with, and flattering even on bare skin. The beautiful packaging is also a nice touch. To see more from the Nightlife Collection, click HERE.
