Review: Sothys Paris Reconstructive Youth Serum

Sothys Paris Reconstructive Youth Serum Review 1

Today I’m sharing my favourite product for waking up to more youthful-looking skin.

Over the past few months, I have been testing out another serum from Sothys Paris. Like the others I have tried, this serum provides visible results right from the first application.

If you are unfamiliar with Sothys, it is an avant-garde beauty expert that produces products sold exclusively in beauty institutes and spas. This highly specialized brand has an extraordinary commitment to research and innovation, which is shown through its effective line of luxurious skin and body care.

The Reconstructive Youth Serum* intensely nourishes skin, bringing it greater density and vitality while improving all signs of aging. Active ingredients include hyaluronic acid microspheres, a complex of vitamins and omegas 3, 6, 9, and sea fennel oil. This powerful combination softens and plumps skin to restore its youth.

The serum’s formula is unlike anything that I have tried. It looks like a thin cream but actually has a gel-oil texture that envelopes the skin and maintains a constant comforting feeling of hydration. When I wake up in the morning, my skin feels just as hydrated as it did when I first applied the serum the night before and it looks plump and smooth. After washing off the serum in my morning shower, my face feels incredibly soft like I just had a salon facial or slept in a luxurious mask. Imagine waking up to this feeling every day!

Sothys Paris Reconstructive Youth Serum Review 2

My only issue with the formula is that it’s not an ideal base for the type of makeup that I wear. Since do not use foundation or any liquid makeup products and only apply a bit of powder blush and highlighter on my cheeks, the powder tends to stick to the serum and doesn’t blend well. This really has not been an issue for me though since I like to mix and match Sothys serums and use either the Detoxifying Anti-Free Radical Youth Serum or the Perfect Shape Youth Serum before my morning moisturizer. These two work perfectly with my skin for day, whereas the Reconstructive Youth Serum is my first choice for night.

This serum is meant for those with thin, devitalized skin that has lost the radiance of youth, so I couldn’t wait to give it a try since I didn't feel that my skin looked as youthful as it did in my 20s. I looked tired, was starting to develop fine lines, and felt like my complexion generally looked dull and less firm.

With my first application of this product, I noticed within minutes that the fine lines on my forehead and between my eyebrows looked blurred and my overall complexion was very hydrated and dewy. By morning, my skin looked fresh and felt smooth and plump. I’ve been using this product at night only (even though it can be used in the morning as well) before my regular night cream for the past few months and I am incredibly pleased with the results. My skin is smoother, more youthful, and more radiant than it has been in a while, and I believe that this is an effective product to reverse and also prevent the signs of aging.

One of my favourite aspects of Sothys skincare is that, despite being a bit of a splurge, it always delivers results. I never question whether or not it’s actually working or if I’m just imagining the progress because I can really see and feel the change in my skin when using it. I also appreciate that a little goes a long way when it comes to Sothys skincare. I only need a small amount of product, and that means that a bottle of serum can last me 6-8 months which makes it worth the luxury price in my opinion.
