Review: Born Pretty Store Bunny Nail Art Stickers

With March beginning next week and Easter just around the corner, designs featuring pastels, polka dots, decorated eggs, chicks, flowers, and bunnies will soon show up on nails again.

This cute set of rabbit-themed Nail Art Stickers* from Born Pretty Store is my first attempt at a spring nail look for 2015.

This set comes with 14 nail art stickers with polka dots, bunny paw prints, and bunny faces in shades of pink, white, and chocolate brown. They are meant to last for seven days and require zero drying time. They are very easy to apply and have a similar application procedure to stickers from other brands like Sally Hansen and Incoco. I had to trim some of them just a bit because my nails are so tiny. As you can see from the photos above, I’m not wearing any of the bunny face stickers. This is because they were much larger than any of my nails. I think they would look very cute on my big toes though.

What I really like about these nail stickers is that they really don’t have much of a nail polish smell like some of the nail stickers that I have tried from other brands. Not to mention, they only cost $1.67 USD with FREE worldwide shipping! Compared to the other brands which can cost $10-$15 at drugstores in Canada, these stickers are a real bargain. You can also save 10% by using the code Beauty4K31. One downside is that they did start to lift a bit in the shower after a few days of wear. I was able to smooth them back down though.

Overall, I think that these Nail Art Stickers are a great product for the price. If you are looking for a inexpensive, quick and easy spring nail look that involves no drying time and no nail polish smell, you may want to give these Nail Art Stickers a try. Moon Cats Scarf Review

As someone who prefers the colder seasons, I consider scarves one of my favourite accessories; they complete an outfit while stylishly adding warmth. For this reason I am very excited to have the chance to review the beautiful scarf in the photo above from Moon Cats, a company that sells high quality yet affordable fashion scarves.

Located in New York’s Fashion District, Moon Cats features a large range of trendy scarf styles including elegant square scarves, warm oblong scarves, wraps and oversize scarves, trendy light weight scarves for all seasons, lovely infinity scarves, and even some styles for men. Most scarves cost around $39.95 but you can get 20% off until December 22 with the code BEAUTYWRITER20OFF. The company offers free shipping to the USA and ships its products worldwide as well.

The scarf that I had the opportunity to try is the Oblong Lightweight Scarf in Almond Milk. Before I talk about the scarf itself, let’s take a look at the beautiful packaging. The scarf arrived in a sturdy box and was wrapped in red paper and sealed with a Moon Cats label. The box also contained a very thoughtful handwritten thank-you note from the company. As a cat lover, just seeing the label made me smile. I also really appreciate the care and consideration that the company put into packaging the scarf and personalizing the note.

The scarf itself is a rich, creamy beige shade that complements many different outfits. It’s made of high quality fabric containing 30% silk and 70% pashmina. The fabric feels silky and luxurious and looks very soft in person. It feels nice against my skin and sits nicely over my coat or clothing regardless of how I wrap it. I have received many compliments on the scarf so far, and some people have asked if they could touch it because of its softness. It comes in other pretty shades as well including Peach Melba, Strawberry Field, Candied Plum, Blueberry Pie, Pepper & Salt, and Liquorice Root. All of these shades are perfect for the holidays.

As you can see from the close up pictures below, the scarf is very well constructed and the fabric is of high quality.

Aside from this scarf, there are a few others that I have on my wishlist including the Infinity Circle Scarf in Cloudy Sky (a beautiful shade of sky grey), the Oblong Winter Scarf in French Couture (an elegant plaid), the Oblong Lightweight Scarf in Peach Melba (a pretty pop of peach), and the Oblong Winter Scarf in Glowing Future (a beautiful yet classy wash of shimmer to brighten up cloudy winter days). For men, I’m loving the Camel Black Scarf and the Vintage Scottish Scarf.

Overall, I highly recommend Moon Cats. The company shows a lot of care and enthusiasm for its products which is very important in my opinion. Also, the scarves are trendy, made of high quality fabric, and affordable. Not to mention, they are a great holiday gift idea!

*Although I was sent this product to try out and write a review on, all opinions are honest and are my own. The coupon code is a nice gift that the company has offered my readers, and I do not receive any compensation if it is used.*

Tangle Teezer Review

Do you remember that episode of Grey’s Anatomy where Merideth Grey describes herself as “dark and twisty”? I distinctly remember it because as soon as I heard that phrase, I was reminded of my hair. It’s dark, very fine, thin, straight, and so twisty. By twisty I mean that it tangles very easily, especially when it’s windy out (which is very often where I live). In addition to the wind, my hair doesn’t get along well with my clothes. I wear a lot of hoodies—even in my air conditioned home in the summer. The friction between the back of my hair and the hoodie creates a ball of tangles that I spend at least 10 minutes every morning trying to untangle with a comb. And don’t even get me started on the mess of tangles that the collar of my winter coat creates in my hair. On occasion, I have had to cut little clumps out with scissors.

Considering my tangle woes, I was very excited when Nail Polish Canada gave me the opportunity to try out a Tangle Teezer. I chose the Original Tangle Teezer in the shade Purple & Pink. Used by professionals in hair salons, Tangle Teezer offers revolutionized detangling hairbrushes that help comb through wet, vulnerable, colour treated hair without pulling or snagging. They’ve received numerous beauty awards since their launch.

After trying this product for a week straight, I discovered that Tangle Teezer is a huge help for tangles on both wet and dry hair. I credit its success to its evenly spaced bristles of varying lengths.

One thing I really like is that it prevents the hair from making that ripping sound that often happens when a hair brush takes on a clump of tangles. I used to have to separate my hair into sections and work out the tangles in each one with a comb. With the Tangle Teezer, I just have to brush through my hair a few times before it’s completely tangle free. It works even faster when my hair is wet, and I find that I lose less hair with this brush than with a standard hair brush. For my hair, the detangling process with this product is painless and very quick. I also like how the spacing of the bristles makes it very easy to remove stray hairs from the brush after use.

My only small complaint is that sometimes the bristles are too short to reach all the hair at the back of my head, so I need to spread the hair a bit so the brush can reach. It takes very little effort though.

Overall, I really love this product and will continue to use it every day. Tangle Teezer products can be purchased from Nail Polish Canada where all Tangle Teezers ship free within Canada. Check out the full selection here: http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/categories/tangle-teezer.html
