Easy Holiday Desserts

Holiday Desserts

During the holidays, it’s always nice to have baked goods on hand for parties or visitors. Sometimes though, there is very little time to bake, so I have put together a collection of some of my favourite easy to make desserts.

The first one is Thumbprint Cookies. These have been a favourite in my family for years. My grandma always used to make them and now I try to continue the tradition each holiday season. They are fun to make and you can customize them with different flavours of jam. This time around, I used peach jam and two different types of raspberry jam. To see the recipe, click HERE.

Next is Cookies & Cream Rice Krispie Squares. All you need for this one is butter, marshmallows, Oreo cookies, and Rice Krispies cereal. They can be made very quickly and don’t require an oven. You can even make them a bit fancier by decorating them with sprinkles or melted chocolate. To see the recipe, click HERE.

Another delicious cookie is the snickerdoodle. If you have never tried a snickerdoodle, you must make that your New Year’s resolution. They are sweet, buttery, melt-in-your mouth cookies with the comforting flavour of cinnamon. I have tried many different recipes, but my favourite so far is the one from Lovin’ from the Oven. See the recipe HERE. I followed the recipe almost exactly, but I added one teaspoon of cinnamon directly into my batter since I like lots of cinnamon.

The last dessert is easy and chocolatey. I bought a brownie mix and cut the cooled brownies into triangular shapes. Then, I used the icing that came with the mix to create a base for festive sprinkles. I think they look like little Christmas trees.

What will you bake this holiday season?
