NOTD: Zoya Dove

Zoya Dove Review 2

I think I’ve mentioned before that grey is one of my favourite colours. It’s the main shade in my home, and I have more grey cardigans than one person could ever need. I also ask for grey at about 90% of my gel polish appointments. It truly goes with everything and it always feels so classy and chic.

For my own polish collection, I like to have a balance of grey shades including those with blue undertones, those that look purple, those with a beige tint, and one or two that lean green. I keep the latter to a minimum since it’s not the ideal shade of grey for my skin tone.

When it comes to a true neutral grey, Zoya Dove has always been my first choice. It was one of the first Zoyas in my collection, and I can’t believe that it took me this long to feature it on the blog. It was released as part of the Spring 2011 Intimate Collection.

Zoya describes Dove as a soft, delicate light neutral grey with an opaque, glossy creme finish. In my opinion, this description is completely accurate. Because the shade is neutral and not too dark, it’s very wearable and will work with many skin tones. It also looks opaque in two coats (Zoya gives it a 4/5 on its opacity scale) and has a beautiful, natural shine. In the photo above I’m not wearing any top coat!

Like most Zoya polishes that I have tried, Dove’s formula is smooth to apply and dries evenly. Some Zoyas are a bit thicker and can take extra time to dry, but Dove is the consistency of a regular polish and dries quickly.

Overall, if grey is your shade or if you are looking for a versatile and sophisticated neutral to add to your collection, I highly recommend trying out Dove. It will soon become one of your favourites.
